Liminal Matters

the architectural model exhibition, 2022

We question, test, and explore. We sketch, make models, prototype and montage. We experiment with programmes, colour, texture, form and new technologies and the interconnections between them. To celebrate the importance of the architectural models generated as a byproduct of our process, we conceptualized, curated and designed the inaugural Liminal Matters, with the generous support of Zarch Collaboratives, and held concomitantly with Singapore Arts Week,.

an open panel discussion, hosted by Yet…?

Rojak Sharings

We were thrilled to host a series of expert panel sharings, which included Dr. Joseph Lim, who shared his thesis studio's cutting-edge digital modelling work and process, and its implications for the field of architecture; Shin Yokoo, who discussed the unique Tenkei Workshop assignment of his studio, as well as his own experience with modelmaking in Japan and in his structural practice OUVI; Zarch, who shared their extensive use of models in a typical architectural practice, offering insights and best practices for designers .

taking the exhibition content as a starting point on their discussion on the role models play in design, how models are developed, and how we can begin to consider them in today’s cultural episteme.
